We are offthe_ page community, a non-profit arts group based in Newham. The group is devised and facilitated by Gareth Rees-Wells and Agne Siauciunaite. Mature Graduates from The University of East London, Docklands. BA theatre studies (2.1) and B.A community arts practice (1st)

'The group was formed in 2016. The idea developed post-graduation as both myself and Agne were looking to continue exploring the arts, we found many obstacles and restrictions, be it entry requirements, experience, access, and /or financial requirements. We were limited in our desire to continue learning, developing, and working within the community. This early experience informed us of the lack of opportunities for non-professionals to experience Acting, movement, and singing. We were left with a mixture of emotions and struggles which had a direct impact on our day-to-day lives, our confidence, and our capacity to grow and create.

After 5 years of developing workshops in Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Essex, over 600 participants passing through our doors with a dozen which still remain to this day, finally started to look into funding opportunities with the desire to offer the workshops free of charge or lower cost to the larger community.
